Someone call Mary Kate Olsen and tell her I found her perfect outfit for fall 2008. Truth be told Mary Kate Olsen has been rocking this very drapey slightly sheer look. The necklace this model is wearing looks really cool too, kind of big but if you’re feeling brave enough to do wear it, you definitely should. That leather jacket isn’t bad either.

Of all the side swept draped dresses I have seen from 3.1 Phillip Lim, this one is my favorite hands down. This has the gentle drape of an Indian sari instead of the heavy drape of curtains. This dress hit the mark the other dresses were shooting for. The dress still masks the actual shape and curve of the wearers body but this bright and yet smoky orange would compliment a wide range of skin tones.

This dress is a little librarian chic. It could also be worn in a more progressive work place. We have see a lot of transparent fabrics at 3.1 Phillip Lim.

I see that leather jacket and I think Sonny and Cher. Why would anyone want a leather hippy jacket? This whole look has me lost. It seems like the model is wearing a men’s wear look. There actually are several men’s look’s from the 3.1 Phillip Lim 2008 fall collection but this is not one of them. Those looks were a lot better than this and I felt that maybe they should have their own review at a later time. As far as this look goes, I’d rather not talk about it.

I am well aware of the fact that just because I do not find certain things aesthetically pleasing doesn’t mean the whole world is behind me on that. With that in mind I can see a lot of women rocking this look or something similar and yes its going to make me grumble. I can’t stand slouch boots but they were a hit for fall 2007 and 2008 is no different. Also since the fall of 07 we have seen a the rise of the vest which is no longer relegated to three piece suits and the like. Vest’s and I haven’t got along since the 80’s but everyone else seems to really like them right now.

Aw how pretty! This dress is soft like a flower petal or a jelly fish. If I were wearing this dress I would be worried about smearing m lipstick on the upper puff of this dress. That would be tragic if you think about it, red lipstick on a white dress? Just awful.

It’s been real interesting starting off the 2008 fall review season with 3.1 Philip Lim. If I had to pick my favorite part of the whole collection I think it would be the larger than life necklaces the models were wearing. Those necklaces are not for the wallflower fashion lover. Phillip Lim was not shy with his use of color either using everything from white to orange. While I did not like everything I saw within this collection I appreciate the diversity in the 3.1 Phillip Lim 2008 fall collection.
