There are times when I take a second look at the photos I have collected, just to make sure I didn’t miss anything worth talking about. Today I revisited my photos of the Oscar De La Renta 2009 Resort Collection. I noticed that there was a lot of looks that I thought deserved attention but didn’t actually make the cut of the first two articles.

This dress is clean and chic in all the right ways. Chic because white is classic never really goes out of style so this dress can worn over and over again for years to come, not just for resort season. And clean because the only embellishment is the tortoise shell buckle on the belt which can be removed whenever you see fit. The silhouette is also very clean, not too short and also not too deep at the neckline, truly flattering to most body shapes.

For some odd reason this look reminded me of a young Paris Hilton. Although when you think about it when did a young Paris Hilton ever wear something this covered up? Maybe this look just speaks to the party girl inside me, that wants to dance all night while the club lights bounce off my shiny satin top. Even when worn with jeans this top is a lot of fun. The green mini skirt is not so bad either. It is not often that you find a Kelly green mini skirt that isn’t made of dyed denim. In fact I feel like I rarely even see mini skirts that aren’t made from denim in the first place.

Oscar De La Renta has crafted some very luxious satin pants fit for the jolly green giant himself. Who else other than him would want to be draped in so much emerald satin? What these pants lack in praticality they make up in comfort I’m sure. Elephant bells are always cool and comfortable and theyre made out of a soft fabric like satin to boot. Maybe you couldn’t enjoy these pants all the time without feeling silly, you would never feel silly in that blouse. The mix of color and adjustable neckline let me know that this blouse can also be worn as a sweater over say a tank top or cami year round.

This is a drop waist done right. Mainly because you can barely even see that the waist is lowered due to the distraction that the actual waist belt provides. Mustard yellow was an unusual color choice for this ethnic print, consequently that is why I like it more. I also really enjoy the pleating in this skirt, you don’t normally see such a busy fabric pleated. Typically pleats are left for the plaids and solid colors. I’m lovin’ it.
This article will be the last we see of the 2009 resort collections for some time. I just can’t take any more holiday wear without going on holiday myself. Kudos to Oscar De La Renta for making a collection so striking it was actually worth a second look.
