Yesterday’s loss had left me in a bitter mood, until the Stella McCartney 2009 Resort Collection lifted my spirits. The entire Stella McCartney 2009 Resort Collection was shot outside in grass at what appears to be a public park and not on the runway like so many other collections. That is the kind of unconventional thinking you would expect from Stella McCartney.

Wow! I love this dress! It’s about time a designer started using recognizable prints. Sure I like abstract prints as much as the next gal but sometimes I like to be able to identify what’s going on, on my clothes. The seascaped fabric graces not only the dress but also the purse and even on the shoes the model is wearing. The bateau neck of this dress can be worn slung to one side baring ones shoulder and back or worn traditionally over both shoulders which would still bare the shoulders but only the tops. For those of you who don’t know, bateau means boat in French. Get it? There is a boat neck on a dress with boats printed on it. Cute right?

Thank you Stella McCartney for using vibrant colors when thinking of what we should be wearing while on holiday. This dress looks really comfortable, definitely a day to night look. I don’t know if I would go as far as to match my jewelry to this exact tangerine color. I think this dress would look great with wooden bangles or any gold jewelry would work well with this warm inviting color. Normally I don’t like anything that ties in the front, like the neckline of this dress, but it really works out in this case.

Brown again. I should have known even Stella McCartney couldn’t resist using brown. After all it is a trend color and ignoring the trend colors means ignoring money. I say give the people what they want. I didn’t know that the people wanted this. Is this a shirt and pants and a belt? Or all of these componets connected into some sort of jumpsuit? I’m not feeling it. I like the big bow at the neckline though and the model appears to have an outstanding attitude.

See, This espresso brown I like. As separates this color works well but together its far too matchy matchy for my taste. I can see blouse from above worn with a nice pair of jeans and heels for a casual night out. To be more specific I think he blouse would be best suited with the “Block Party” jeans by Luxuirie that I reviewed sometime last week. The bubble shorts are not my favorite but they are gaining popularity for some reason. If you must buy bubble shorts these are not a bad choice.
The Stella McCartney 2009 Resort Collection has been a delight to review. So far So good. I’m really looking forward to the next installment of the Stella McCartney 2009 Resort Collection.
