I am really excited for this installment of my Oscar de la Renta Resort 2009 review. I will not be reviewing any looks I already dislike off the bat. I decided why waste our time on negativity? From here on out we will be accentuating the positive by reviewing looks I mostly love.

This dress reminds me of television static, only I think this dress is beautiful and not annoying at all. The aqua blue and burnt orange combination is daring to say the least. This dress really works though. The fit is rather modest with its knee length hem and high scoop neck. It could be worn in a very chic office or anywhere you want to be on vacation. This dress is going wake up everyone around you with its clash of bright colors.

Oh how fun!! Take a look at all of those cascading ruffles and tell me you don’t want to at least try this on. And we all know once you try this dress on your going to sulk the whole way out of the showroom if you don’t buy it. I really like the black and white confusion of this dress. Because the dress has no color its self you could wear virtually any color of accessories. However if you are really going for maximum head turning effect you should wear red or black accessories, that’ll stop ‘em dead on their tracks.

Oh boy someone call the little mermaid and tell her I found her the perfect outfit to hide her identity. The skirt of this look is so voluminous it really could hide a whole mermaid tail. I really wonder what drove Oscar de la Renta to make this into a skirt and tube top set instead of just a strapless gown. I can’t help but to keep staring that little slice of skin that is shows between the skirt and top and think to myself why? While the previous dress containing the very same cascading ruffle style can be worn out on the town I am still trying to figure out the appropriate occasion for this one. Well I guess if you have a summer ball at the aquarium this dress would work but only if you have a ton of sea inspired jewelry for your décolletage.

Yes!! Now this is a look that I love from head to toe and I can barely even see the shoes the model is wearing. I love the way the necklace on this look falls on the models chest, it looks like she has had small stones glued exactly in place on her cleavage. It looks awesome. Now on to this delightful black dress. This dress does not fall into the “little black dress” category because it makes too much of a statement. This is not a dress you are going recycle when you can’t decide on what to wear to a party. This the dress that you will only wear when you are ready for it. And by ready I mean ready to handle the abundance of compliments and attention this dress is going to have you showered in. Who could see you in this dress and tell you look bad?
Well there was more to come but it seems I have run out of time again, so I encourage you to seek out the Oscar de la Renta 2009 resort collection yourself so you can see all the beautiful looks that didn’t make the Fashion Shanty cut.
