Oscar de la Renta has a great tan and a ton of friends. The same could be said of the 2009 resort collection which bares his name, of course you will have to add your own tan however. Perhaps with time after you hone your perfect summer tan, the Oscar de la Renta 2009 resort collection will draw people closer to you too. Even if only to stop you on the street demanding to know where you got that fabulous yellow bag… I am getting side tracked so I will just let the collection speak for itself.

Typically I like to end a segment with my favorite look but today I’m letting the best go first. I absolutely love this dress. It even has a waist belt and I still like it. The colors of this dress are a sight for sore eyes after all that dreariness from other design houses. I don’t think I need to mention any names…Chanel and Fendi. This dress makes it look like you just go back from a far away safari vacation and you never even had to leave. That tote is not bad either.

The chiffon of this caftan really takes ethnic print to a different level, in that the design has been so distorted you can’t really tell where the design would have originated from. The colors say Africa but the repetitive diamond says Native American to me as well. Either way this caftan looks super comfortable for a hot summer night.

When you get tired of being draped in fabric from shoulder to toe this lovely white lace mini dress would be a sweet alternative. This dress rides the line between day and night. Of course the bright white means it is a shoe in for day time wear but with the right shoe and much looser hair this dress could dance all night. For the versatility alone I love this look. If only I could get a better look at that envelope clutch she is holding on to.

What is interesting about this dress is the use of orange, yellow and brown. Typically this color combination is relegated to all things fall and if I remember correctly this is the Resort collection for 2009 not the Fall collection for 2009. It is the sweetness in this dress that makes it work. However part of me is unsure of the age range of this dress but I’m thinking it’s somewhere around 18-35 and that may be stretching it a little far.

Time is running out and there is still so much to show of the Oscar de la Renta 2009 resort collection. Let me just speak briefly of this look before I depart to work on act two, I love the full circle skirt of this dress but the neckline could stand to be a little more flattering. The mustard yellow print is not my favorite but it is better than nothing. Why the model is wearing turquoise shoes, I will never know. Coverage of the Oscar de la Renta will resume shortly.
