Our Chanel holiday is not over yet. Let’s continue to make our way through the ups and downs of the Chanel resort collection for 2009.

The dress has a total James Bond feel. The model looks like a jet setting double agent who’s only in town for one night. I think this dress could be worn in both the day and the night time despite its rather modest neckline. I like the use of the iconic Chanel double C’s without over doing it.

Although I’m not sure how many couples would want to wear matching Chanel, you definitely could. The dress from above matches perfectly with this look, so perfectly it may only look good on portrait day. V-neck sweaters are always a great idea. They have a simple sexiness to them just by having a more dramatic neckline than you would expect on a man.

If you look closely you can see the Chanel double C’s on this t-shirt and if you look ever closer you will see that this shirt kind of looks like pink tie dye. I’m not sure if this is a special wash on the cotton of the shirt itself or maybe it is actually tie dye. White slacks for men are a look I can always agree with. A crisp pair of slacks in a crisp white, what could be better?

When I first saw this dress I thought “what is up with that saran wrap on the bottom of the dress”. I am still having those thoughts. Dresses with a band around the upper thighs are very common at the mall right now, you can get them in virtually ever color. At first I didn’t like the idea of Chanel pieces looking anything like what is in the mall however when you consider the change of texture and the addition of transparency at the very least it is a different take on a very familiar silhouette.

Above we have another thigh band dress, only this one looks much cuter. The smokey transparency paired with the soft grey jersey really compliment each other well. I’m not thrilled by those rosettes made from the trim on the bolero jacket but if you take them away this ensemble would have no embellishments at all, well besides that ugly trim.

Is it weird to say that it looks like she is pregnant with roses? I really like the rose pattern on this dress so much so I would have preferred to see the whole dress covered in them. I don’t know where I stand with this dress at all. I don’t like that the focal point of this dress is in a low weird placement although I do like the roses contained within said focal point. I will just say that I do love the shoes.

The 2009 Chanel resort collection has been full of surprises. Some good, some bad. Let’s only focus on the good parts of this collection, the bathing suits, the use of the iconic Chanel double C’s and the brands willingness to push current trends to the next level. Good job Karl Lagerfeld.
